Industry Gathers as ABA Convention Gets Underway

The baking industry is converging in Arizona for the American Bakers Association’s (ABA) annual Convention, which features a wide-ranging agenda that spotlights critical industry issues — from advocacy to workforce.

The Convention runs from April 14 to 17 at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa in Scottsdale.

“We are extremely excited about the 2024 Convention in light of the expected strong attendance, a plethora of key issues to be showcased, and the opportunity to relay the strategic direction of the association,” said Eric Dell, ABA’s President and CEO.

The Convention will feature education, thought leadership and networking opportunities.

Among the program’s highlights:

ABA’s Dell will outline the newly revealed 5-year strategic plan and how this comprehensive initiative is dedicated to championing the commercial baking industry
Priority legislative and regulatory topics will be highlighted in presentations about federal and state policy issues.
Convention sessions will explore the future impacts of technology — from AI to automation — and how baking businesses can prepare.
Two facilitated Executive Roundtables will enable attendees to engage with their peers on the topics of workforce enhancement and category growth.
Other sessions will spotlight consumer expectations, community impact and promoting grain nutrition.
A range of networking opportunities will include one-of-a-kind social events and a new lineup of sporting tournaments.
