WHY IS IT AN ISSUE?
Almost 800,000 bakery supply chain employees work tirelessly and safely making and delivering the baked goods that feed the world. ABA Member employees in bakery production, maintenance, sales, administration, and transportation need a strong advocate in both federal and state governments to protect their safety, wellbeing, and working conditions.

The annual ABA Safety Recognition Program, launched in 2016, honors ABA Member locations that have achieved a high level of safety performance as an ongoing effort to reduce work-related injuries and illnesses. The industry’s dedication to workers’ safety not only proves ABA Member companies’ focus on employees’ well-being but has also helped companies reduce costs associated with fewer injury claims.
