ABA ensured our Members' perspective was heard regarding the availability of grain options (enriched and whole) in the U.S. school meals program.
In an industry letter submitted in response to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's proposed Revisions to Meal Patterns Consistent with the 2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, ABA stressed the inclusion of grains to support health equity and nutrition security for American school children. Additionally, ABA raised concern about the proposal's product-based limits, particularly for “grain-based desserts.”
